Staff at St Philip's Centre have expressed their delight following the announcement that one of their colleagues who was involved in the creation of the charity, Kathy Morrison, has been awarded an MBE by Her Majesty the Queen in the 2011 Birthday Honours List.
St Philip’s Centre which runs a range of inter faith programmes, training and events will celebrate its fifth Annual General Meeting later this month. Kathy Morrison, PA to the Director was instrumental from the start alongside the founding Director, Revd Canon Dr Andrew Wingate OBE. She said, “I’ve enjoyed helping St Philip’s Centre grow into a nationally and internationally recognised charity. I’m pleased that the work of the Centre has built up such a good reputation over the years thanks to the dedication of the staff, volunteers, faith practitioners and Trustees under the chairmanship of Richard Atkinson. It has had such a positive impact upon the lives of many people”.
Revd Canon Dr John Hall, Director of St Philip’s Centre added, “This award is well deserved. Often behind the scenes Kathy has been tireless in her efforts to support and strengthen inter faith relations in Leicester. I’m delighted for her and the Centre”.
Congratulations on the blog - st Philip's moves into a new zone of social networking - and yes, well done Kathy - a gong well deserved! John
